SM held the first ever fashion show for kids in Philippine Fashion Week
(PFW) history last October 26, the first official day of PFW.
The collection showcased was for Spring Summer 2011, which was
much evident in the airy frocks paraded by the little lady models.
Chiffon, lace and especially tulle were the fabrics of choice for plenty
of ballerina-inspired Sunday best dresses. Fluffy tulle skirts were
matched with tights, lace leggings and casual shirts. For street wear,
there were acid wash denims for the girls paired with ruffled cotton
tops. Almost every outfit, from the dresses down to the jeans, was
accessorized with floral headdresses, chiffon headbands and butterfly
accents in Spring-Summer hues. Shades of violet and lavender dominated
the collection, making it the definitive color of the season.
While the girls were mostly dainty and delicate, the little men
were very preppy. SM aimed to bring out the kids' schoolboy charms in
blazers, sports jackets and argyle vests. They were layered with
sweaters, polos and t-shirts, paired with slacks and solid-colored
denims, making the boys look every inch the little gentlemen.
Accessories such as fedora hats and newsboy caps polished off some of
the looks.
